About Us
Welcome to our blog. We are Jordan
and Madison Francis. This blog is designed to document our travels, both abroad and close to home.
Our story
began in Moscow, Russia. We were both teaching English with the International
Language Program, and realized we had a connection. Eventually our friendship
blossomed into love. After returning home to Utah, we dated and realized we
never wanted to spend a day apart again.
Before we
had met, we had both done our fair share of traveling. Jordan had explored part
of Southeastern Europe, having served an LDS mission in Albania, Montenegro,
Kosovo and Macedonia. Additionally, he had spent some time in the Caribbean.
Madison on the other hand had journeyed to Western Europe, visiting France,
Italy, Austria, Switzerland, and dipped into Czech Republic and Germany. She
had also visited Mexico and the Caribbean.
While abroad
in Russia, we had the opportunity to travel to several areas in Russia, as well
as neighboring countries. We visited all of the Baltic States (Latvia,
Lithuania and Estonia), and visited the majority of Scandinavia- Finland,
Norway, Sweden and Denmark. We have no intention of stopping our travels there.
We want to continue
our travels and share our experiences with you, in the hopes that you may act
upon the desire to visit these places yourself, and share it with your loved
ones. Mark Twain once said, “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and
narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts.
Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by
vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one’s lifetime.” There truly
is no better way to learn about the world than to take part in the beauty that
is travel, so get out there and start exploring.
I hope you
join us on our future adventures here and on Instagram @jmftravels. We would
love to see your travels too, so follow us and use #jmftravels for a chance to
be featured on our page.
All the best,
Madison and Jordan
